Treating acute inflammation with Mercurius corrosivus

Mercurius corrosivus is a homeopathic remedy with limited action that is mainly intended for the treatment of inflammation and unbearable burning pain.

Mercurius corrosivus is a homeopathic remedy made from mercuric chloride. It is a highly toxic white powder soluble in water, ether, alcohol and glycerin. The ingestion of mercuric chloride in its pure state can cause inflammatory diseases and especially erythema. For this reason, the substance has been thoroughly treated, from which all toxicity has been eliminated, which is used in the development of the remedy Mercurium corrosivus.

Stomatal disorders

Mercurius corrosivus is used in case of dryness and burning pain in the throat but also in case of swollen and bleeding gums. It is also recommended when the tongue becomes very red and wet and has dots. This remedy is also effective against inflammation of the mouth accompanied by burning pain. In addition, it is recommended when the teeth become very sensitive and painful - especially at night - and/or when the lips are very dry.

Gastrointestinal infections

Mercurius corrosivus is recommended if there is swelling of the epigastric area or burning pain in the stomach accompanied by vomiting containing blood. This remedy is also recommended when the stools are pasty and composed of blood and mucus and the defecation causes burns in the anus or rectum accompanied by violent abdominal pain. In addition, Mercurius corrosivus helps relieve foul-smelling diarrhoea.

Urinary and gynaecological disorders

Mercurius corrosivus treats inflammation of the kidneys associated with violent pain in the bladder neck as well as bladder inflammation. It cures urethritis characterized by severe pain and/or greenish discharge. It is also used in case of sparse urine followed by blood flow and relieves people who cannot sit for long periods of time due to the fact that their sexual organ becomes swollen. Most often, Mercurius corrosivus is also prescribed in cases of vaginitis.

Otorhinolaryngological and ophthalmological diseases

Mercurius corrosivus is an effective remedy for the treatment of pharyngitis accompanied by nosebleeds. More specifically, it is prescribed in case of coryza associated with a sparse mucous discharge and dryness of the nose. It also helps to reduce pain in the bones of the nose as well as burning of the nostrils. In addition, it can be used in cases of blepharitis, conjunctivitis and pupil numbness in the presence of light rays. In addition, inflammation of the eyes that causes headaches and is accompanied by severe pain can also be treated with Mercurius corrosivus.

Dosage indicated in case of stomatal disorders

To treat gingivitis, relieve pain or get rid of dryness of the throat and/or lips, take 3 granules of Mercurius corrosivus 9 CH every hour and space out if you improve. To reduce inflammation of the mouth, swelling of the tongue and toothache, administer 5 granules of Mercurius corrosivus 15 CH every 30 minutes at first and then space the doses by one or 2 hours.

Recommended dosage for gastrointestinal infections

To treat bloating of the epigastric area and stomach pain followed by vomiting, take 5 granules of Mercurius corrosivus 9 CH 4 times a day outside of meal times. To get rid of foul-smelling diarrhoea accompanied by blood flow, use 3 granules of Mercurius corrosivus 9 CH every half hour. And to calm anal pain, use 5 granules of Mercurius corrosivus 15 CH 3 times a day, especially if the stool is pasty and contains blood and/or mucus.

Recommended dosage in case of urinary and gynaecological disorders

In case of bladder or kidney inflammation accompanied by violent pain, place 5 granules of Mercurius corrosivus 9 CH under the tongue, 3 times a day. And, in case of sparse urine containing blood, take 5 granules of Mercurius corrosivus 15 CH, 4 to 5 times a day. In addition, pain and burning due to swelling of the sexual organs can be alleviated with 5 granules of Mercurius corrosivus 15 CH, to be administered 3 times a day.

Dosage indicated in case of otorhinolaryngological and ophthalmological diseases

Pharyngitis associated with nosebleeds can be treated for 4 months with three daily doses of 5 granules of Mercurius corrosivus 9 CH. Coryza, dryness and/or pain in the nose can be relieved with 3 granules of Mercurius corrosivus 9 CH to be sucked on every half hour. The doses will then be gradually spaced out according to the improvement of the symptoms. Blepharitis and conjunctivitis can be treated with 5 granules of Mercurius corrosivus 15 CH, to be melted in the mouth 3 to 4 times a day. Finally, the inflammation of the eyes causing headaches can be relieved with 3 granules of Mercurius corrosivus 9 CH, to be administered every one to two hours.
