A trauma is an injury to a few tissues, a limb or an organ that has been caused by an impact. In most cases, it is an injury, dislocation, fracture, bruise, and burn. However, it is also possible that the shock is emotional and that it leads to psychological trauma.
Symptoms of trauma
There are as many symptoms as there are forms of trauma. In the case of an injury, scratch, puncture or cut, regardless of the cause, the first symptom is blood effusion. If the trauma is not very severe, the flow of blood may stop spontaneously and the pain remains superficial. Otherwise, it is possible that there will be bleeding or wound formation. In the case of a bone fracture, a bruise or to an open wound or even internal or external bleeding may be noted. And in the case of a burn, the wound is often accompanied by a swelling or an open wound that may or may not heal easily.
Some traumas are not characterized by an effusion of blood. This is the case for bruises, sprains and tendonitis. Bruising is manifested by the appearance of a bruise on the surface of the skin after an impact that has affected and injured muscle tissue. If it is located on ligament tissue, it is possible that it is accompanied by a sprain. In both cases, the trauma can cause a lump or edema and develop into a hematoma. Tendonitis, on the other hand, is manifested by painful inflammation located in the tendon.
How to treat traumatic pain?
The reference remedy for all traumatic pain is Arnica montana. Administer 3 grains a few minutes after the shock and continue the treatment with 3 granules of Arnica 5 CH every quarter of an hour until improvement is obtained. In particular, to relieve a bruise, complete the treatment with the application of a gel, again based on Arnica. To relieve pain caused by a sprain or tendonitis, suck on 3 grains of Rhus tox 5 CH or Ruta 5 CH, once a day for 5 to 6 days. And to treat trauma located on innervated parts, use 3 grains of Hypericum 5 CH or Calcarea fluor 9 CH, three times a day for fifteen days.
How to relieve trauma localized to sensitive areas?
If the trauma is on the skull and causes memory loss, dizziness and/or insomnia, take one dose of Natrum sulfuricum 200 K, once a week until all symptoms disappear. But, if it is the cause of a nosebleed, 3 granules of Millefolium 5 CH or China 5 CH would be the most indicated. In addition, in the event that the bruise or injury is located in the eye, melt 5 grains of Ledum palustre 5 CH in the mouth, twice a day. And in the case of intense pain in the head, after the shock, use a daily dose of 5 grains of Hypericum 200 K, for three weeks. Finally, if the trauma is localized on the breasts, place 5 grains of Bellis perennis 6 K under the tongue, until improvement.
What treatment should be followed after the emergency measures?
To rapidly consolidate a fracture, administer 5 grains of Symphytum 4 CH or Calcarea phosphoricum 7 CH twice daily and one dose of Silicea 9 CH once a week. To heal wounds that have caused blistering, take 3 to 5 granules of Rhus tox twice a day. Finally, to treat a burn that turns the skin purple, use 3 to 5 granules of Urtica urens, twice a day. However, if the reddened part tends to swell, opt for Belladonna 5 CH.
When to see a doctor?
In case of a serious bruise or injury, it is mandatory to go to a doctor for first aid. The same applies if the trauma is caused by an insect bite or bite or is located on a sensitive part, i.e. on the head, face, eyes or joints. In addition, in the event of comatose trauma, do not hesitate to take the patient to the nearest medical center.
