Helonias dioica is a homeopathic remedy whose mother tincture is extracted from the eponymous plant, helonias, which is a plant native to North America. It is a herbaceous plant belonging to the melanthiaceae family. Helonias thrives particularly in humid environments. For the manufacture of homeopathic remedies, the rhizomes of the plant are mainly used.
Indications in gynaecology
Many women often experience unpleasant symptoms during menstruation and after the onset of menstruation. Helonias dioica can help overcome certain disorders. This remedy is particularly suitable in the case of too frequent periods, or in cases of menorrhagia, i.e. when periods are abnormally heavy. Helonias dioica makes it possible to treat these disorders while remedying the state of exhaustion or intense fatigue that can result. It is very common to observe a white vaginal discharge outside the menstrual period. Helonias dioica is also indicated in women in this case and in the presence of vaginal yeast infections. These can be of various origins, often due to fatigue itself or a hygiene problem and usually occur after menstruation. Alternatively, the homeopathic remedy Helonias dioica may also be indicated in case of uterine prolapse. The woman suffering from such an ailment has the sensation that her uterus is giving out. This pathology often triggers uterine pain that can be alleviated as soon as the remedy is taken.
Recommended dosages
For the treatment of vaginal yeast infections, practitioners very often recommend Helonias dioica 5 CH granules, at a rate of 3 granules per dose, in the morning and evening. The treatment is the same in the case of menstrual disorders accompanied by a generalized state of fatigue: Helonias dioica 5 CH, 3 granules in the morning when you wake up and 3 granules at bedtime. The same dosage is also prescribed to calm uterine pain in the event of uterine prolapse.
