Mastodynia is a disorder that manifests itself as breast pain and mainly affects women who have not yet reached the age of menopause. There are two types: premenstrual mastodynia and fibrocystic mastodynia.
Symptoms of mastodynia
Breast pain following mastodynia can be unilateral, bilateral or diffuse and usually occurs between two and six days before menstruation, hence the name premenstrual mastodynia. Mastodynia is manifested by burning sensations, breast tension, tightness and heaviness, the slightest touch of the breast being perceived as pain. This is the result of cyclical changes occurring in the breast, a phenomenon related to ovarian hormonal secretions. Fibrocystic mastodynia, on the other hand, is characterized by irregular hardness of various parts of the breast. The edema that then forms is the result of an excess of estrogen. The most visible and sensitive symptom is undoubtedly the volume of the breasts that increase and the pain at the slightest touch.
Homeopathic treatment of mastodynia
To treat mastodynia, it is advisable to opt for Folliculinum 15 CH. In order to relieve hard and painful breasts, it is advisable to take 5 granules of Bryonia alba four times a day until the pain disappears completely. In case of stabbing pain in the breast and itching in the rectum and vagina, it is then recommended to opt for Hydrastis canadensis.
Conium maculatum is indicated if breast pain appears before menstruation and if it manifests itself as stabbing. In this case, it is also possible to use Arnica montana 9 CH, at a rate of 3 granules every hour. For the treatment of premenstrual syndrome, Lac canimum 9 CH is the most indicated remedy. You should take 5 granules a day as soon as the first symptoms occur and until the next period arrives.
When to see a doctor?
Since breast pain can have several causes, it is best to see a doctor as soon as a disorder occurs. The problem can, in fact, be the consequence of taking pills for example. A visit to the doctor is also necessary as soon as a lump forms in the peripheral part of the breast.
