Abnormal uterine hemorrhage, metrorrhagia is a disease that needs to be taken into account as soon as the first symptoms appear. This disease can occur at any age in women, from puberty to pre-menopause. Its causes are numerous and it is sometimes difficult to determine them without advanced clinical examinations. Among the most common causes is hormonal imbalance, specifically high estrogen production, which leads to a thickening of the endometrium. The disease can also occur following a so-called "anovulatory" cycle. The latter case results from a very low or even zero progesterone level.
Symptoms of bleeding Regardless
of its cause, bleeding is manifested by abnormal blood flow. On the one hand, this discharge can occur during menstruation and it is then noted that its duration is abnormally long. It should be noted that bleeding for more than 7 days is a sign of functional bleeding. In addition, and only in certain cases, the presence of blood clots of abnormal quantity may be noticed. On the other hand, metrorrhagia can occur outside of menstruation and is called "intermenstrual metrorrhagia". In this case, the amount of blood that flows is often small and the disease is mainly due to an endocrine imbalance. The phenomenon can occur both before ovulation and in the post-ovulatory period.
During puberty and adolescence, functional metrorrhagia results from difficulty in starting the menstrual cycle and is manifested by abundant blood flow, which can lead to anemia if the patient is not treated quickly. Although this disturbance stops with time, it represents a danger to the young girl's health. At any age, the presence of tumors such as follicular cysts can lead to functional metrorrhagia, manifested by a flow of blood between two cycles.
Recommended homeopathic treatments
In case of functional bleeding occurring in the middle of the cycle, take 5 granules of Bovista 9 CH 4 times a day until the disorders cease or 5 granules of Ambra grisea 9 CH if the bleeding occurs following annoyance or after a slight effort. This treatment is particularly recommended if the blood flow is accompanied by diarrhoea. If menstruation is accompanied by pain in the lower abdomen, it is recommended to take Ustilago 4 to 6 CH, depending on the amount of blood. If the bleeding contains bright red clots, treatment with 5 Sabina granules, to be taken 3 to 4 times a day, is effective. If the bleeding is due to the use of an IUD, take 5 granules of Arnica montana 9 CH. Bursa pastoris, Badiaga, Erigeron canadense, Fluoris acidum, Argentum nitricum and Hamamelis virginica are also indicated to treat functional metrorrhagia.
When to see a doctor?
If, despite treatment with homeopathy, there is no change, it is imperative to consult a doctor or gynecologist. Indeed, metrorrhagia can be due to factors other than hormonal dysfunction. In addition, if the period has always been normal and regular, the observation of abnormal blood flow should be reported urgently to a doctor.
