Relieving frostbite with homeopathy

Frostbite is a pain in the extremities caused by cold and humidity. The pain is caused by burning sensations. Homeopathic remedies make it possible to treat the ailment by natural methods.

Frostbite is an ailment that eats away at both the physical and the moral of those who suffer from it. It is caused by the cold which causes blood circulation disorders in the extremities. This disease has various forms that range from edema to acute pain sensations, cracks and blisters on the skin.

Frostbite, a cold-related condition

Frostbite is a condition caused by the cold that some individuals cannot tolerate because of their body. Those at risk are children and women, as the latter are frequently subjected to a cold and humid environment in particular. The risk is even greater when the subject has blood circulation problems. The most affected areas of the body are the fingers and toes, but more generally, it is the extremities that are affected (the hands, feet, ears and nose). This sometimes manifests itself as stinging pains as if caused by needles. In fact, it is a decrease in blood flow and defective venous return that causes pain.

How do you recognize frostbite?

Frostbite first manifests itself as redness in the affected area, then by a certain stiffness and more generally by insensitivity. Edema can appear as swelling of the fingers or toes. Kind of thick patches cover the skin of the extremities that become cold and painful. They can be even more painful when they warm up. Sometimes the fingers or toes crack and sometimes ulcerations or blisters appear; which causes a stabbing pain that often lasts a very long time. This pain is the consequence of a vasoconstriction of the blood vessels in these parts of the body and it is because they are no longer sufficiently vascularized that they hurt.

Homeopathic treatment for frostbite

To relieve the pain caused by frostbite, the affected areas should be warmed gradually, for example, in water at 30°C. Lesions that affect the skin through redness or other deformities are not irreversible, but, in the long term, the affected areas remain sensitive to the cold. You must proceed with treatments according to the symptoms to relieve the pain in a relatively short time. For example, Arsenicum Album is suitable for burns that are relieved by heat in doses of 4 to 5 CH, 3 times a day, while Nitricum acidum is recommended for lesions with cracks and bleeding. Ranunculus bulbosus 4 to 5 CH can be taken 3 times a day, it is indicated for pain aggravated by damp cold. Local treatment can be done by applying Agaricus ointment 4%, 2 to 3 times a day. For a long-term treatment, during the winter, you can take Agaricus muscarius 9 CH and Secale cornutum 9 CH, at a rate of 5 granules of each per day.

When to see a doctor?

It is imperative to consult the doctor when blisters filled with a whitish or blackish fluid form or when normal doses of analgesics do not work, or when an exacerbated sensitivity to cold lasts for weeks. Other manifestations should not be neglected either. For example, when you can no longer feel the affected area or when a change in pigmentation occurs, you should then turn to a health professional.
