Caulophyllum Thalictroids is a homeopathic remedy obtained from the dry root of the blue colosh, a plant also known as squaw roots, yellow ginseng or blue ginseng. In addition to being used to treat specific problems of women related to menstruation and childbirth, it also has the property of relieving certain rheumatic pains.
Caulophyllum Thalictroides is effective in the late pregnancy period and in preparation for childbirth when uterine contractions begin to be felt. Its therapeutic effect during obstetric labour is remarkable because it facilitates childbirth. Indeed, it contributes to the dilation of the cervix and regulates the contractions of the uterine walls, thus making the pain felt during this phase more bearable. It is also indicated in the case where obstetric work is interrupted and the cervix stops dilating for a certain period of time.
Caulophyllum Thalictroides is recommended for the treatment of painful periods during the first few days. Indeed, it reduces the pain caused by the expulsion of clots and relieves the disorders caused by light periods.
Caulophyllum Thalictroides also relieves rheumatic pain localized in the interphalangeal joints of the lower limbs as well as the upper limbs but does not cause any deformity in the joints.
Recommended dosages
To prepare for childbirth, five granules of Caulophyllum Thalictroides 9 CH should be taken twice a day during the week preceding the APD (Probable Date of Delivery). During labour, if the cervix retains its rigidity and there is a possibility of uterine inertia, five granules of Caulophyllum Thalictroides 9 CH every fifteen minutes are sufficient, but when the cervix opens two centimetres, an additional 5 granules of Actaea racemosa 9 CH can be taken every fifteen minutes. To reduce the intensity of uterine contractions and to space out their frequency, 5 granules of Caulophyllum thalictroides 9 CH are combined with 5 granules of Cuprum arsenicosum 9 CH and an antispasmodic.
In case of menstrual pain, five granules of Caulophyllum Thalictroides 9 CH are to be taken during attacks.
To treat rheumatic pain related to interphalangeal arthralgia, five granules of Caulophyllum Thalictroides 5 CH should be taken morning, noon and evening for three months.
