Chapped skin is painful cracks that appear on the lips and hands and are caused by cold, humidity or contact with detergents. They can be treated by homeopathy. If the symptoms still do not go away, it is necessary to consult a doctor. Indeed, homeopathy mainly helps to reduce chapping but does not necessarily eliminate it.
Causes
Chapped skin occurs when it is dehydrated by cold, dry air or prolonged contact with soil, as well as certain irritating products such as paint and detergents. On the lips, they can be caused by respiratory problems, sun allergies, certain foods or hot drinks.
Symptoms
Chapped skin is caused by dehydration and is characterized by shallow cuts in the skin, which are difficult to heal and bleed. They are painful and tend to open with each rubbing.
The
homeopathic treatment of chapped skin depends on its location and the appearance of the cracks. If they are on the lips, use Condurango 5 CH if they are cracks at the corners of the lips. On the other hand, take Natrum muriaticum 5 CH if the cleft is in the middle of the lower lip. Belladonna 7CH should be given if the skin becomes red, hot and painful.
If the cracks are on the nipple, use a mixture of Arnica 5CH and Phytolacca 5CH, 5 granules to be taken 3 times a day. If you have chapping on your hands, lips, and feet, use Petroleum 5 CH instead at a rate of 5 granules 3 times a day, then 5 granules 2 times a day as soon as there is improvement. If the chapping is painful and located on the pulp of the fingers, then it will be advisable to take 5 granules of Nitricum acidum 15 CH per day. Normally, in less than 3 weeks of treatment, the first results are already felt.
Tips to avoid chapping
To avoid chapped hands, apply a daily softening and moisturizing cream, use a superfatted hand soap and avoid prolonged exposure to detergents. Always go out covered in cold weather and eat a diet rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids.
When to see a doctor?
Despite all these treatments, chapping can persist. Especially if you have a skin disease such as fungus on your hands or cold sores, or if you are diabetic. Sometimes the situation worsens and the chapped part swells and becomes hot. In one of these cases, it is imperative to consult a doctor.
