Promoting better healing with homeopathy

Although healing is a natural process, it can sometimes take some time for the body to recover. Homeopathy accelerates this process in order to promote better healing.

When the skin undergoes an external aggression that causes an injury or cut, it then tries to regenerate naturally. This healing phase takes place in three phases: the exudative phase, the proliferative phase and the healing phase itself. The healing process can be very fast on light skin lesions such as cuts and can last between 24 and 48 hours, the time it takes for the cells of the epidermis to divide, migrate to the infected area and fill it. On the other hand, when the wound reaches the dermis, healing takes much longer, including many stages. The longest of these is called the maturation phase and can last up to 24 days, the time it takes for the affected dermis and epidermis to gradually reconstitute the different skin layers that originally made it up. Thanks to homeopathy, it is possible to accelerate healing and strengthen the production of protective layers.

Healing burns with homeopathy

It is advisable to administer Arnica 7 CH to patients who suffer from severe burns and are shocked. If the skin has extensive burns during putrefaction, then Urtica Urens should be administered. Some burns cause swelling that makes the skin sensitive to heat, and in this case, it is recommended to take Belladona 5 CH. Burns caused by electric shock should be treated with Phosphorus 5 CH, while in the case of burns with oedema, Cantharis 5 CH should be used. This care must be administered at a rate of three granules every hour or every 15 minutes in the most serious cases, while waiting for help to arrive.

Scars, cheloids and cuts

Injuries caused by a sharp object can be relieved with Saphysagria 7 CH, at a rate of 3 to 5 granules twice a day. Wounds with bruises will be less painful thanks to Calendula 5 CH. On the first day, it will be advisable to take 5 granules every hour, while on the following days, it is advisable to adhere to the same dosage twice a day.

To promote cheloid healing, Causticum 9 CH should be administered when an old, healed burn is still painful. Scars that hurt when the weather changes can be relieved with Nitricum acidum 9 CH, while scars that turn red and itchy under the effect of heat can be relieved with 9 CH Fluoricum acidum. For optimal therapeutic effectiveness, the dose of 5 granules should be respected once a day.

When to see a doctor?

Some injuries such as those caused by diabetes or hemophilia require emergency care. Similarly, any infected and deep wound should be treated by a doctor without delay. It is also imperative to consult in the event of 2nd or 3rd degree injuries, when a haemorrhage cannot be stopped or when a cheloid extends beyond the frame of the original scar.
