Anitis is the inflammation of the anus, characterized by pain, redness and sometimes discharge. The causes are varied, including a sexually transmitted disease leading to the appearance of condylomas in the anus or the presence of hemorrhoids or simply a skin infection due in particular to repetitive washing. There are two main forms of anitis including streptococcal anitis, usually seen in children, and seborrheic dermatitis.
Symptoms of anitis
Anitis usually manifests itself as tingling in the anus followed by burning and itching. In some patients, anitis can cause serous or serohemotic oozing if they have contracted a sexually transmitted disease such as gonorrhoea.
In children, there is a bright red, well-defined and painful perianal erythema. Anitis can present itself in the form of mycosis or eczema. Sometimes these symptoms are preceded by pharyngitis accompanied by recent perilabial impetigo.
The dosage of homeopathic remedies for anitis
Thehomeopathic remedy prescribed will depend on the secondary symptoms. If anitis is associated with burning sensations in the anus, take 5 granules of Hura Brasillensis 5CH, 4 times a day.
In the case of anal inflammation accompanied by worsening stinging sensations at the time of bowel movements, the subject should be treated with Paeonia Officinalis 5CH at a rate of 5 granules, 4 times a day.
To relieve acute or chronic inflammation in the rectum or anus, homeopathic treatment can also be considered by taking 5 granules of Paeonia Officinalis 5CH, 3 to 4 times a day for 10 days.
When should you see a doctor?
Burning, suspicious oozing, bleeding or unexplained itching in the anus should be visited by the doctor. All these signs can presage anitis, which can be confirmed by anoscopy. Sometimes the doctor will ask to do a search for STDs, a cause of anitis that will be treated accordingly. Sometimes, a thorough medical examination can lead to the discovery of a fistula or even anal cancer.
