Treating perlèche with homeopathy

Perlèche is an inflammation of the corners of the lips that can be treated with homeopathy. However, some remedies have drawbacks.

Perlèche is an ulceration of the corners of the lips. Most often, there is erythema on the lips as well as cracks. If it becomes complicated, perlèche causes bacterial or fungal infections that can spread to other parts of the face or inside the mouth.

Causes and symptoms of perlèche

The causes of perlèche are very diverse. Among the most common are vitamin B2 deficiency, a bacterial infection due to syphilis, an overdose of vitamin A taken as part of medical treatment or dental appliances that the mouth cannot tolerate.

The main symptom of perlèche is dryness at the corners of the lips that causes cracks. The subject has difficulty opening his mouth and often moistens the corners of his mouth. In cases of perlèche complications, bloody and painful exulcerations can be observed at the corners of the lips. Perlèche can become very annoying when it spreads to other parts of the face. However, it is a disease that can be treated with homeopathic products.

Perlèche and homeopathic treatment

In total, there are more than 40 homeopathic remedies that can be used to treat cases of perlèche. Specialists often recommend a combination of Mercurius solubilis, Monilia albicans and Sepia Officinalis, all in 5 CH. These products are to be taken at the rate of 3 granules of each, three times a day. Nitricum Acidum is also effective in the treatment of pearl. Without any combination, this product can be administered in 7 or 9 CH, at a rate of 5 granules, to be taken 2 times a day. There is another very effective drug that does not have the support of all specialists because of the side effects it causes: Streptococcinum.

Treatment of perlèche with Streptococcinum and Condurango

Perlèche can be of streptococcal origin. For this reason, homeopathy specialists have long suggested administering doses of Streptococcinum 9 CH to 15CH once a week to patients with perlèche. But the drug sometimes causes serious side effects and must be combined with Lung Histamine 15 CH in spaced doses to curb the bad effects of streptococcinum such as scarlet fever, Rhus tox, noise intolerance, nightmares and hallucinations close to madness.

Many specialists are leaning towards another product used in homeopathy on patients with stomach cancer: Condurango. This plant growing on the Andes Mountains in Latin America has many virtues and its action does not cause effects as harmful as those noted with streptococcinum. Nowadays, the use of Condurango in the treatment of perlèche tends to become more widespread, even if it is not as effective as Streptococcinum.
