Meningeal syndrome is caused by inflammation of the meninges, most often in the arachnoid or dura mater. This inflammation is caused by a bacterial or viral infection or by a meningeal hemorrhage.
Symptoms
Meningeal syndrome is manifested by three main signs: stiff neck, severe headache and vomiting. It is vomiting without preceding nausea without the slightest effort. Headaches are particularly intense, pulsatile (or beating) and exacerbated by light (hence photophobia), noise, but also by head movements. In infants and children, meningeal syndrome is more difficult to detect and is mainly manifested by hypotonia, unusual sleepiness and constipation. In the most severe cases, inflammation of the meninges can lead to disturbances of consciousness in adults (confusion, obtundation, etc.) and convulsive seizures in children and infants.
Belladona headache treatment
relieves pulsatile headaches. You should take 5 5 CH granules every hour until the pain disappears. Gelsenium sempervirens 15 CH granules are also effective and it is advisable to take them every 2 hours.
Treatment of neurological disorders
Discomforts related to intracranial hypertension, such as neck stiffness, headache, and neurological hypersensitivity can be treated with Solanum nigrum 4 CH to 9 CH.
Photophobia
In case of photophobia, Gelsenium sempervirens is recommended. It comes in the form of drinkable ampoules, drops, dilute powder or mother tincture. As this substance can be toxic if not diluted properly, taking 15 CH granules is the most recommended. Just let them melt under the tongue. You should start with 5 granules (to be taken every 2 hours), then gradually reduce the doses, until the signs disappear.
When to see a doctor?
As soon as the first characteristic symptoms of the disease appear (unusual and intense headaches, vomiting, stiffness or pain when bending the neck), it is recommended to consult your doctor. Only he can determine the cause and treatment of meningeal syndrome. Medical consultation is strongly recommended for babies and children. Indeed, in the case of untreated meningitis, the sequelae will be irreversible.
